Bernard Maybeck’s Palace of Fine Arts from the 1915 Panama Pacific Exposition and surrounding park provide the unique setting for this San Francisco residence.

Two of four duplicate homes originally built along the park by a developer were combined during sequenced remodels to form this single-family residence. The remodeled plan maximizes vistas of the spectacular reflecting pond, park grounds and magnificent Maybeck building.

“I love purple and orange, make it really cool.” – Client

The proposed controversial project required numerous public hearings and approvals from multiple agencies including planning, building, historic and national parks departments. The new versatile multi-level plan incorporates extensive family living and entertaining areas, a guest suite and a penthouse providing access to outdoor terraces with breathtaking vistas of San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge
